AFFORDABLE HOUSING and COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Jamie Madden

A community development professional with experience as a real estate developer, policy-maker, and organizer, Jamie’s experience with affordable housing began in childhood as a resident of affordable housing in Massachusetts' most diverse community. He has dedicated his career to expanding opportunity for disadvantaged people and communities as a policy advocate in Massachusetts, as a real estate development project manager for The Community Builders, Inc., and as a Senior Director for Enterprise Community Partners in Seattle, where he helped create the Washington Early Learning Loan Fund. He provides feasibility studies, project management, financial modeling, fund structuring and policy analysis for affordable and mixed-income housing and early learning centers.

Sloan Dawson

Sloan is an urban planner with diverse interests in the field, spanning such subfields as transportation planning and economics, land use and urban design, community and economic development, and urban sociology. 

 

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT and FACILTATION

Sung Kim

Sung’s professional history has focused on creating partnerships in order to launch new programs and successfully implement existing ones. She is a skilled facilitator and can help organizations and teams execute diversity, equity, and inclusion activities. Sung has a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she majored in Urban Studies and Planning with a focus on the intersections of immigrant culture and city planning.

 

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE, URBAN DESIGN, PUBLIC ART

Sara Zewde

Studio Zewde is led by Founding Principal, Sara Zewde. She brings years of experience leading complex design processes across the Americas, with a design approach that works explicitly to illuminate the distinct cultural and ecological qualities of a place. Sara is Assistant Professor of Practice at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and is the recipient of a number of awards, including the Hebbert Award for Contribution to the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT and the Silberburg Memorial Award for Urban Design. Sara was named the 2014 National Olmsted Scholar by the Landscape Architecture Foundation, a 2016 Artist-in-Residence at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, and in 2018, was named to the National Trust for Historic Preservation's inaugural "40 Under 40" list. Most recently, she was named a 2020 United States Artists Fellow. Sara is a registered landscape architect and holds a master’s of landscape architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a master’s of city planning from MIT, and a BA in sociology and statistics from Boston University.

RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE

Sole Mendez

Sole Mendez is a Registered Architect, licensed in the state of New York, and the founder of Bellwether Architects PLLC.

Sole has a professional degree in Architecture and a minor in Furniture Design and Fabrication from the University of Notre Dame, as well as a Master’s Degree in City Planning from MIT, where she graduated with honors. Sole has over 14 years of professional experience working for one of the most renowned high-end Architecture firms in the country, Ferguson Shamamian Architects, where she rose to the rank of Senior Associate. She continues to challenge herself by founding Bellwether Architects PLLC and aspires to bring the same level of care for design and detail, with a new and fresh perspective for her clients at Bellwether.
